Playing with fire …..

…. and hopefully, I’ll get burned.  I am in the midst of rewrites.  The beginning of one of my works in progress just didn’t feel right.  Characters were mewing in my ear that what I was asking them to do just wasn’t working for them.  Like petulant children, the dug their heels into the ground and the harder I tried to pull reign them in, the harder they pulled away.  When that starts to happen, I know that it is indicative of my own inner struggles.  My mind shuts down when the outer world starts to squeeze my creative muse so hard that she retreats.  I think it’s time we both take a vacation but in reality, the only one who really gets to take a break is my muse.  That is where the frustration takes over so once again, it is time to do a little spring cleaning.  But not until tomorrow.  Today, we both took a break to rejuvenate.  We watched a few movies and worked on this blog.  Tonight, we’ll  a couple glasses of wine and let the voices in our head take a vacation. 

But, just to give my muse and me a little push, we let the visual part of us play and dream about the future. This is our story:
